France will hand over decommissioned military equipment to Ukraine, Defense Minister Sébastien Lecorneau said, reports Var-Matin.
Lecorneux, answering a journalist's question about the transfer of French military equipment to Ukraine, specified that "in the country there is some criticism regarding the supply of weapons removed from the national stocks".
"From those who think we give too much and from those who think we don't give enough. We can clearly see that we are talking a little superficially and sometimes politicized, since the campaign for the European elections has started", the minister said.
"There is a certain "red line" that we will never cross and we will not undermine the French defense system.
"As for the weapons we were able to take from our armies, for example the Caesar self-propelled artillery systems, they of course disrupted the training schedule of our gunners, but they do not undermine the artillery," Sébastien Lecorneu explained.
The French minister announced that Ukraine will receive decommissioned equipment from France.
"France is reinvesting significant funds in the army, and according to the plan for 2024-2030, 413 billion euros (819 billion leva) must be spent.
France has equipment and military equipment that is still operational and will be decommissioned in the future." According to the minister, "it would be better to give this equipment to Ukraine than to simply throw it away".
