Since 2018, Britain's armed forces have lost several dozen weapons, including machine guns, assault rifles, grenade launchers and thousands of rounds of ammunition, writes The Telegraph, citing official figures from the British Ministry of Defence.
Among the weapons lost by the British Army were two General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs), one of which was lost at sea by the Royal Navy.
Britain also lost a decommissioned Russian rocket launcher, up to eight SA-80 rifles, several Glock pistols and small arms from the First and Second World Wars.
At least 30 weapons have been lost or stolen from military bases since 2018.
Military police are investigating the losses.
In addition, in the last four years, the heads of the British defense departments have lost 1,800 computers, laptops and flash drives.
Night vision equipment worth over £ 2,000 (BGN 4,628) and silverware worth over £ 30,000 (69,424 BGN), which were stolen from a military base.
