From next year, new projects are expected in the EU for liquefied gas terminals and soon there may be an abundance on the market. This will significantly lower prices, said the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen at a press conference after the end of the two-day extraordinary meeting of the European Council, writes BTA.
She noted that today's high prices are an obstacle to European competitiveness, especially in the production of metal, glass and fertilizers. In the EU, we must not only use digital services and products, but be a leading force in the world in this area, Von der Leyen insisted. According to her, investors in the EU need predictability.
We need legal migration, said the President of the EC. Last year, 3.5 million foreigners arrived in the EU legally, invited by employers - this is three times more than the number of migrants who came illegally, Von der Leyen specified.
On the occasion of the discussed report on European competitiveness, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, pointed out that it is necessary to introduce a unified approach to the issue of bankruptcies in the EU. We need to approximate the working conditions of companies, encourage investment and access to financing, he added.
