The war between Vladimir Putin's Russia and NATO will end in "inevitable defeat” of Moscow, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Szykorski told Politico's European editorial office on Thursday.
"It is not us, the West, who should be afraid of a clash with Putin, but the opposite," Sikorski said during a speech before the Sejm, the lower house of the Polish parliament. "It is worth reminding this, not to increase the sense of threat among the Russians, because NATO is a defensive pact, but to show that an attack by Russia against any of the members of the Alliance would end with its ( of Russia) inevitable defeat“.
Szykorski, who laid out Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk's vision for the new government's foreign policy, said Russia's military and economic potential "pales in comparison to that of the West” because NATO has three times as many military personnel, three times as many air resources and four times more ships than Russia.
"Putin's only hope is our lack of resolve,”, he warned.
