The current mayor of Bucharest Nikušor Dan takes first place a place in the electoral attitudes before the local elections in Romania, which will take place simultaneously with the elections for the European Parliament on June 9, reports Agerpress agency, quoted by BTA.
A study by the Avangard agency shows that the former mayor of Bucharest Gabriela Firya, who is again a candidate on behalf of the ruling Social Democratic Party, is in second place, and in third place – Christian Popescu Piedone – current mayor of the Fifth District of Bucharest, who was nominated for mayor of the capital by the Humanist Social Liberal Party.
The Vanguard agency poll shows that if local elections were held next Sunday, independent candidate Nikushor Dan, backed by the opposition Alliance of the United Right, would receive 31 percent of the vote. The Social Democrat Gabriela Firja would get 24 percent, and Cristian Popescu Piedone – 20 percent.
The current Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduža, who was nominated by the other ruling party - the National Liberal Party, would receive 15 percent, and the candidate of the nationalist party “Alliance for the Unity of Romanians“ Mihai Enake – seven percent.
Regarding the Bucharest City Council, the electoral attitudes, according to the Vanguard survey, look like this: Social Democratic Party – 31 percent, "Alliance of the United Right" – 25 percent, National Liberal Party – 20 percent, Humanist Social Liberal Party – 10 percent, "Alliance for the Unity of Romanians" – 9 percent, SOS Romania – 2 percent and BENCHMARK – 1 percent.
Thirty-eight percent of survey participants said they were satisfied with the development of Bucharest. Four percent are very satisfied and 25 percent are dissatisfied. Eleven percent are very dissatisfied, and 22 percent have a neutral opinion, according to the survey data.
Fifty-eight percent of the respondents evaluate as good the decision of the ruling Social Democratic Party-National Liberal Party coalition to abandon the general candidate for mayor of Bucharest in the person of Dr. Katalin Kirstoi. According to 18 percent, this decision was wrong, and 24 percent did not answer or did not have an answer to this question.
Regarding electoral attitudes to the European Parliament elections, the pre-election alliance of the ruling coalition (SDP-NLP) ranked first with 50 percent, followed by the opposition alliance “Alliance of the United Right“ by 26 percent. They are followed by the nationalist party “Alliance for the Unity of Romanians” – 11 percent, the Humanist Social Liberal Party – nine percent, the nationalist SOS Romania of controversial senator Diana Soshoaca – 2 percent, REPER of former Prime Minister Dacian Cholos – one percent.
The Vanguard survey was commissioned by the Social Democratic Party on a sample of 1,150 people, representative of the adult population at the level of Bucharest. The data was collected by the door-to-door method. (on field) in the period April 24-27. The maximum sampling error at the 95 percent confidence level is +/- 2.9 percent.
