Several killed in Israeli airstrikes against two residential buildings in the suburbs of the Syrian capital Damascus, reported the Syrian state agency SANA. The attack also resulted in numerous injuries, but their exact number is not yet known, BTA quoted.
One of the affected buildings is located in the suburb of Mazeh, and the other – in Qudsaya, west of Damascus, adds Reuters. Israeli army radio said the targets of the strikes were the headquarters and other buildings associated with the Palestinian group "Islamic Jihad".
Israel has been carrying out airstrikes on targets in Syria believed to be linked to Iran for years, but sharply stepped up its attacks after the attack by the Palestinian Islamist group "Hamas" against South Israel on October 7 last year.
