The Pentagon: There is a real possibility of negotiations between Kiev and Moscow

The head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, admitted that there is a possibility of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine", writes UNIAN.

Commenting on the likelihood of peace talks, Austin has said that the task of the partners is to make sure that Ukraine is in the strongest possible position at this time.

"Most conflicts of this nature end in some kind of negotiation. Again, when that happens, we want Ukraine to be in a better position to be able to achieve its goal and negotiate the right things: what it will agree to or not agree to. Our goal is to make sure they have help," Austin added.

The Ukrainian media recalls that on April 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia has no desire to negotiate the end of the war because it invariably wants to destroy Ukraine. The Ukrainian president said he is ready to negotiate with those who really want peace.
