The words of French President Emmanuel Macron about the possible sending of troops to Ukraine are an unprecedented new round of tension, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

„Recently, you and I witnessed an unprecedented new round of tension, which was initiated by the President of France and the British Foreign Office. All this was very dangerous rhetoric,”, the Kremlin representative said, commenting on the data that France has sent soldiers from its foreign legion to Ukraine. At the same time, Peskov drew attention to the fact that the specified information “must be verified in advance”.

Earlier, French leader Emmanuel Macron, in an interview with the British magazine The Economist, admitted considering the issue of sending troops to Ukraine if Kiev requests "if Russian forces break through the front line."

On Thursday, May 2, ag. Reuters published an interview with British Foreign Secretary David Cameron in which he claimed that Ukraine had the right to strike British weapons against targets on Russian soil. The story was then retracted, according to Reuters, while some details of the report were “reviewed”.

The new version was released at 00:00 Moscow time and did not differ from the original material. It also contained London's pledge to continue providing Ukraine with 3 billion pounds ($3.74 billion) of annual aid for as long as needed.
