The battle for Kharkiv Oblast will not be decisive in the war in Ukraine, the retired American lieutenant general Ben Hodges is certain.
"The battle for Kharkiv Oblast will not be decisive, because that would mean it would end the war. I don't see how that will happen. I also do not believe that Russia has the opportunity to achieve a decisive knockout of Ukraine, he said to the Ukrainian channel 24.
According to him, despite the fact that Ukraine did not receive all the necessary support from its partners, the Ukrainian armed forces managed to slow down the advance of the Russians on the Kharkiv direction. And this highlights Russia's inability to achieve anything meaningful.
"This shows the problems that Russia still has," Hodges emphasized.
