The Ukraine summit to be held in Switzerland on June 15-16 in Switzerland could be in jeopardy, Volodymyr Zelensky said at the conference on security "Shangri-la dialogue" in Singapore, quoted by ag. Bloomberg.
„Unfortunately, there are attempts to derail the summit,” he said, adding that he did not want to believe that they were caused by the desire for “monopolar power over the world”.
The agency recalled that Biden's schedule would most likely not allow him to attend the conference, and China also refused to participate in it.
Switzerland will hold a conference on Ukraine on June 15-16 near the city of Lucerne. Representatives of about 160 countries have been invited to the meeting. At the same time, Russia was not invited to the event.
The employee of the Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, noted that Moscow does not intend to participate in the “next meeting according to the Zelensky formula”. The ambassador in Bern, Sergey Garmonin, explained that Russia refused to attend the event, as the purpose of the conference was to issue an ultimatum to the country.
The administration of the Brazilian president told RIA Novosti that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will not go to a conference on Ukraine in Switzerland in June. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa's office told the agency that he would also not attend the conference. A day before, Chinese Foreign Ministry official Mao Ning said that the agenda of the Ukraine conference in Switzerland differs from China's demands, so it is difficult for Beijing to participate in the event.
President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the conference in Switzerland is clearly not focused on results, and without Moscow's participation, there can be no talk of serious expectations.
