Re-occupation of Ukrainian territory in the future must be prevented by Russia. And that doesn't necessarily include Ukraine's membership in NATO after the war. US President Joe Biden said this in an interview with TIME.
"The world looks as if Russia will never, never, never, never occupy Ukraine. This is what the world looks like. And this does not mean that NATO, that they (Ukrainians) will become NATO members. This means that we have the same relationship as we have with other countries that we supply weapons to so that they can defend themselves in the future,”, Biden explained.
As the president recalled, it was he who opposed "natovization” of Ukraine.
Biden noted that he spent a month in Ukraine when he was a senator and vice president. At that time in the country "there was significant corruption that made everything worse”.
But he added that if the West allows Ukraine to fall, then Poland will fall and the unstable situation in the region will continue.
