The head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said that the global increase in energy and food prices is caused by the conflict in Ukraine.
She said this at the opening of the conference on Ukraine, which is being held in Switzerland.
„Energy prices have soared. Food prices skyrocketed. And this is a cautionary tale for the whole world”, the politician said, noting that the consequences of the conflict in Ukraine are spreading all over the world.
