The president of Slovenia, Natasha Pirc Musar, announced that she will visit the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, in Thursday, June 27, STA reported, quoted by BTA.

There she will sign a bilateral agreement between Slovenia and Ukraine in the field of security. Pirts Mussar explained that the agreement will be modeled after similar agreements signed by Ukraine with other countries willing to provide assistance.

„This is a commitment to continue aid to Ukraine as long as necessary”, she said, quoted by the RBC-Ukraine information portal.

The agreement, prepared by the ministries of defense and foreign affairs, is not a binding international treaty, but only expresses political will to support Ukraine.

Until now, Ukraine has signed security agreements with over 15 countries, including the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Denmark, etc. Kyiv is expected to conclude a similar agreement with the EU on June 26.

Slovenia is one of the European countries that supports Ukraine in the war with Russia. So far, Ljubljana has provided several packages of military aid to the Ukrainian army. Recently, according to media reports, Slovenia decided to provide Kiev with 26 armored vehicles, three infantry fighting vehicles, anti-aircraft guns and other equipment. The package also includes drones.

Slovenia also joined the Czech Republic's initiative to purchase ammunition for the Ukrainian army.
