The US is gradually reducing the number of old armored vehicles , which Ukraine can theoretically receive. The idea that there are thousands of armored vehicles ready for battle in the Pentagon's warehouses is a myth, commented the military-analytical resource Defense Express.
Analysts recall the recent visit of the Greek military to the US, where they selected 164 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles from storage at two storage bases. The US will provide some of these machines to Greece for free and others at a reduced cost.
"The aforementioned 164 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles were assembled for Greece, but for this purpose a "digging” of existing stocks in two storage bases“, experts note.
According to estimates by The Military Balance, by 2023 the Pentagon had approximately 2,000 M2 Bradleys and approximately 800 M3 Bradleys in its storage bases. However, as Defense Express notes, "it must be considered” the fact that a significant number of these vehicles are partially disassembled and can only be used for spare parts.
"All of the above leads to the following conclusion. Indeed, there are still infantry fighting vehicles in US storage bases, but the available stocks are already being inexorably depleted, analysts concluded.
