The Ukrainian army massacred 5,000 Russians in one district of Chasov Yar - 1

For the eastern Ukrainian city of Chasov Yar in the Donetsk region, fierce fighting is taking place. Every meter of land is won with huge human sacrifices.

Ukraine said the Russian occupiers had lost 5,000 of their soldiers in capturing just one neighborhood in the city, which before the full-scale war had a population of just 12,000.

The spokesperson of the Ukrainian Operational-Strategic Group of Forces (OSGV) "Khortytsa" Nazar Voloshin stated that the enemy continues to conduct active combat operations in various directions, but the Ukrainian forces are holding out and giving an adequate rebuff to the enemy.

In one of the microdistricts of the city, the Russian army has suffered huge losses – 5000 man power. In the battle for Chasov Yar, the Russian army used well-known tactics from other points on the front – first completely destroys the settlement with artillery and air bombardment, then sends infantry to occupy it.

Chasov Yar is located on a very convenient elevation. The Russians want to capture it and create a springboard for further attacks on other cities in the district. The Ukrainian military calls the attacks by Russian forces a “cannon fodder assault”.

The Ukrainian army announced last week that its troops had withdrawn from a suburb of the strategic town of Chasov Yar in the eastern Donetsk region. Earlier, Russia announced that its forces had taken control of the small neighborhood of “Noviy”. Chasov Yar is located on a hill. If Russia were to establish full control of the city, its forces would be able to use it as a position from which to launch an advance west towards Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

The advance in Kharkiv Oblast has been halted, but Ukrainian military analysts acknowledge that Ukraine is experiencing a difficult year on the battlefield and that the delay in receiving US military aid has had a huge impact.
