British police said today they have made an arrest in connection with the deaths of two men whose body parts were found in dumped suitcases in the southwestern English city of Bristol, reported the Associated Press.
London District Police said officers arrested a 34-year-old suspect at Bristol train station earlier today. Police also said human remains were also found at an address in Shepherd's Bush, West London, yesterday. There are suspicions that there is a connection between them and the body parts found in the suitcases near the "Clifton" suspension bridge. in Bristol, specifies BTA.
A team of forensics examined the alleged crime scene in Shepherds Bush this morning, the AP reports.
The arrested suspect "will be taken to London for questioning later today," police said in a statement. "A thorough investigation is underway, and at this stage the police are not looking for another suspect in connection with the case," law enforcement authorities added. Police announced earlier this week that they are seeking to locate Colombian national Yostin Andres Mosquera in order to bring him in for questioning.
Police officers arrived on a call to the iconic "Clifton" bridge. in Bristol around midnight on Wednesday, ten minutes after reports of a man behaving strangely were received. However, the man who went there by taxi had already left. Police said the taxi was impounded for evidence and the driver was assisting with the investigation.
The victims have not been officially identified, but both are believed to be underage. Autopsy results have been declared "inconclusive" and a second examination of the bodies is currently underway.
A 36-year-old man was arrested in connection with the investigation yesterday in Greenwich, South East London, but was later released by police without charge.
