Zelensky opposes Trump: We received $200 billion from the US only on paper, but in reality a little over 76 - 1

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with the Associated Press that he does not know where $200 billion in military aid granted by Washington to Kiev went. According to him, Ukraine received only over $75 billion from the United States.

On January 21, US President Donald Trump statedthat the United States had spent $200 billion more on military aid to Ukraine than other NATO countries, and the next day he did not rule out the possibility of a complete halt to the supply of American weapons to Ukraine.

“When they say that Ukraine received $200 billion during the war to support the army, etc., this is not true. I don't know where all this money is. Maybe it's on paper“, he said in the interview, the full version of which was published by the YouTube channel of Zelensky's office.

Zelensky claims that Kiev has not received even half of the allocated aid, citing different amounts of funds received several times. According to him, as for the $177 billion allocated to the United States - "the exact figure that Congress supported", this aid was sent to Kiev "not in money, but in weapons" and Ukraine received "$76 billion or something".

Zelensky added that under the foreign aid programs frozen by Trump, Ukraine received about $300-400 million for humanitarian projects in the fields of energy, medicine and modernization of border crossings.

“There are other programs that I don't know about”, he says. - The US president will probably do a review and say that billions more have been allocated. But I don't know where they were going".

The British newspaper The Guardian wrote that the authorities in Kiev were shocked by the Trump administration's decision to freeze aid, and Ukrainian experts noted that the EU is not able to replace the US on this issue.
