Macron ruled out the possibility of appointing a prime minister from the left - 1

French President Emmanuel Macron ruled out the possibility of appointing a prime minister from the left coalition "New People's front" reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.

The agency notes that this will lead to a prolongation of the political crisis in France.

The Elysee Palace announced last night that Macron will begin a new round of consultations with the parties today in an attempt to form a government. However, the task appears to be difficult, given the fragmented composition of the new National Assembly and the deep disagreements between the individual political forces.

"New People's Front" is a broad coalition of parties ranging from moderate socialists to the extreme left, Reuters noted. He won the most seats last month in snap National Assembly elections called by Macron after France's far-right won European Parliament elections in June, but is far from a majority in the lower house of parliament.

At a meeting with the president yesterday, the leadership of the far-right "National Assembly" declared against the appointment of a representative of the left as prime minister. This narrows Macron's options for finding a way out of the political crisis, Reuters points out.
