At a meeting of the Serbian government today supported the proposal to return to military service, reported Serbian RTS television, quoted by BTA.
Military service will be for a period of 75 days. President Aleksandar Vucic said that the ministers at today's government meeting supported the proposal to return to compulsory military service. He added that he informed them about the details of the meeting in Brussels, about the discussions he had about the situation in Kosovo and about the upcoming meetings he will hold.
Aleksandar Vucic wrote on his Instagram profile that he thanked the ministers who supported the proposal to create a working group to consider activities and measures aimed at activating the obligation of military service.
"I pointed out that this is a big thing for Serbia, not only for the defense of the country, but also because it will strengthen the sense of responsibility and seriousness in young people, which they will need for everything they will face in civilian life.
„The cities and municipalities where the barracks are located will also benefit from compulsory military service, because these areas will rise economically and advance and develop even faster, Vucic said.
