A series of earthquakes on the Greek peninsula of Halkidiki  - 1

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 on the Richter scale was registered at 12:15 today on the Halkidiki peninsula in northern Greece, reports ANA-MPA, citing based on data from the seismological station of the University of Thessaloniki "Aristotle".

The epicenter of the earthquake was 12 kilometers southeast of the resort village of Ouranoupoli.

According to data from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers with an epicenter in the Aegean Sea.

Half an hour earlier, at 11:47 a.m., another earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale was recorded in the same area, according to the University of Thessaloniki seismological station.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center determines its magnitude at 4, and the depth at 13 kilometers.

In the same area, several more earthquakes with a magnitude between 2.5 and 2.2 were registered today, according to the center's data.
