Loud explosions in Odessa after a rocket attack  - 1

Strong explosions were heard in Odessa as a result of a rocket attack, the mayor of the Ukrainian city of Gennady Trukhanov in the Telegram application, quoted by BTA.

The air alert was announced at 12:25 (Bulgarian time). A minute later loud explosions rang out.

According to preliminary information in local Telegram channels, a hit target in Odesa region has been confirmed.

Local authorities are urging people to seek shelter in safe places.

Bulgarians in Odesa Region number over 150,000 people and are the third largest according to the official census in Ukraine in 2001. In the city of Odesa itself live about 50-60 thousand Bulgarians. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolgrad, Izmail and Belgorod-Dniester regions, BTA reports.
