A dangerous situation occurred at night at "Frederic Chopin" Airport. in Warsaw – the suitcase of one of the passengers exploded, reports RMF FM, quoted by News.bg.
The explosion occurred in the baggage sorting area. Rescuers who arrived at the scene found that a container containing research samples of biological material carried by a passenger had burst.
"The explosion was caused by dry ice,” explained Bartosz Maciong from the Warsaw Fire Service.
According to him, the samples were not damaged, only the container in which they were transported was damaged.
There was no need to evacuate people from the terminal, and no one was injured as a result of the incident.
