Kremlin: The elections in Moldova were manipulated - 1

The elections in Moldova were not free, and their results show “difficult to explain” increase in votes in support of President Maia Sandu and the European Union. This was stated today by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by Reuters and BTA.

The almost final results of the EU membership referendum show that those who voted "yes" winning a slim majority of 50.17 percent. Sandhu noted yesterday that the vote was marred by an “unprecedented” external intervention.

Peskov also commented on yesterday's informal meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which lasted until midnight.

The spokesman declined to give a direct answer to the question of whether North Korean soldiers would fight in Ukraine, but stressed that Moscow has a sovereign right to develop relations with Pyongyang in all areas.

Peskov added that the question of the participation of North Korean soldiers should be addressed to the Russian Ministry of Defense. However, he assured that Russia's cooperation with North Korea is not directed against third countries. Peskov also noted that South Korea and the Pentagon have different positions on this issue, with the latter stating that it cannot confirm information about the involvement of North Korean soldiers.
