There are no reasons to stir up public spirits because of the possible change of the national anthem of Kyrgyzstan, said the press secretary of the president Askat Alagozov, quoted by the Kyrgyz news agency KABAR, reported BTA.
„At today's event in the parliament, its chairman, Nurlanbek Shakiev, said: „We accepted the national anthem, leaving the Soviet Union. Now we are an independent country moving confidently on the path of development. That's why we need to change the anthem. This should be a hymn that all the people of Kyrgyzstan can sing. But this statement should be taken solely as the personal opinion of the speaker of the parliament,”, the president's spokesperson commented on social networks.
„This opinion has already caused a lively discussion in society and social networks. If an initiative to change the national anthem is launched, it will necessarily be necessary to announce an open competition for text and music, in which poets, writers, composers, philosophers, as well as all those who are confident in their talent and they want to create an anthem capable of receiving broad public support“, added Alagozov.
„This takes quite a bit of time, so there is no reason to upset the spirits of the public because of the possible change of the anthem. If the majority of the people do not support the changes, they will not need them at all”, concluded the speaker.
