Slovakia will kill 400,000 chickens after at least - the largest poultry farm in the country was found to have bird flu, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.
The state veterinary and food authority confirmed that the disease was detected on a farm in the western municipality of Dvori nad Zhitavou, after the owner self-reported the death of several chickens in accordance with the regulations.
The Association of Poultry Breeders in Slovakia informs that all eggs from the producer in question have been immediately withdrawn from the market. There is no danger to users.
