Michelle Obama: Women's rights could be threatened if Trump wins - 1

Former first lady of the United States Michelle Obama warned that women's rights could be threatened if Donald Trump wins a second term in the White House, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.

At a campaign event last night in Kalamazoo, Michigan, alongside Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, Obama said women should not have to suffer the consequences of the dissatisfaction of men who will vote for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. Trump, out of disillusionment with the political system, or who may decide not to vote at all.

Obama urged American voters to think about what's at stake, saying: "If we don't get this election right, your wife, your daughter, your mother, we as women will become collateral victims of your rage".

She pointed out how the new restrictions are forcing some women to cross state lines just to access basic medical care. "We are more than a baby carrier," she added, stressing that women deserve to be in control of their own bodies.

After the Supreme Court, which has a conservative majority achieved by former President Trump, canceled the right to abortion throughout the country, in some parts of the US there have been restrictive requirements and even a complete ban on the right of women to have an abortion, DPA notes .

Millions of US citizens have already cast their votes in early voting. According to polls, the results of the race between Harris and Trump are shaping up to be a minimal margin.
