German ARD TV correspondent in Kyiv Birgit Virnich said during a live broadcast that the “worst&ldquo has happened for Ukraine ;, referring to Donald Trump's victory in the US elections, reported focus.de.
Trump's presidential victory is causing headaches outside the US - this is especially true for Ukraine. Based on his statements on the campaign trail, it is uncertain whether Trump will maintain financial and military support for the country attacked by Russia.
Birgit Virnich described the developments in Washington as the worst-case scenario for Ukraine: “The worst has happened”.
The ARD correspondent said that from January the situation for Ukraine will worsen sharply if Trump stops financial aid to Kiev.
Ukraine plans to develop its own arms industry, but that will take years and is not something that will quickly fill the hole the Americans will leave behind.
