Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that North Korean servicemen had suffered casualties in battles with Kiev forces and that some of the 11,000 troops deployed to Russia's Kursk region had taken part in the fighting, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
In a press conference during the summit of the European Political Community in Budapest, Zelensky said that he believes that if no retaliatory action is taken, more troops from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will be deployed on the side of Russia.< /p>
Zelensky also said that talks about a cessation of hostilities in the war with Russia, without first agreeing on security guarantees for Ukraine, were "very dangerous". "Cease fire when there are no security guarantees... is preparation for continuing the occupation," he added.
At the press conference, the Ukrainian leader noted that he was not familiar with any details of Donald Trump's plan for a quick end to the war and that he had not discussed it with the newly elected American president. According to Zelensky, Trump wants to end the war, but this does not necessarily mean that it will happen.
