Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated employees and veterans of the authorities of the internal affairs works for their professional holiday. In a video address, the head of state noted the professionalism and courage of law enforcement officers - former and current.

„We honor the true professionals for whom serving people, ensuring order in society, protecting the rights and safety of our citizens has become a life's work,” Putin said, “Always the best employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are were distinguished by courage, integrity, firm belief in the power of law and justice, educate new generations in the traditions of honor, patriotism and fidelity to duty."

The President expressed confidence in the coordinated and efficient service of police officers in the interest of all citizens, society and the state in all spheres entrusted to them.

Putin noted the significant contribution of the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to solving the problems of the special military operation in Ukraine.

"I thank all the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the competent, clear actions, including in non-standard, extraordinary conditions. “For a significant contribution to solving the problems of a special military operation”, the head of state said.

He particularly noted the brave work of the internal affairs departments in the areas located in close proximity to the line of combat contact. “The situation here is dire and the people, the civilians, need your help and protection. I am confident that you will do everything necessary to ensure their safety as much as possible. And you will promptly solve all the questions that the citizens turn to you with,”, Putin emphasized.

The Day of Internal Affairs Officers is celebrated on November 10. The holiday in its current form was established in 2011. Previously, since 1962, the date has been observed as Militia Day.
