The Volkswagen ID. Unix 06 was officially "declassified" by the Chinese regulator MIIT, which released photos and specifications of the model into the public domain. The new product is part of Volkswagen's strategy to expand its range of electric vehicles, which includes the launch of five "smart" electric cars by 2027, created as part of a series by Volkswagen Anhui's joint venture in China.
The model has a modern and compact body with dimensions of 4,663 x 1,860 x 1,610 mm, respectively length, width, height and wheelbase of 2,766 mm. Thanks to the optimization of the design, the car's curb weight has been reduced by 70 kg compared to the previous model with one electric motor and now its weight is 2,091 kg. The car demonstrates an angle of attack of 17°, which guarantees confident handling even in rough terrain.
Volkswagen ID. The Unix 06 is powered by a 170 kW (228 hp) electric motor coupled with a lithium-iron phosphate battery pack produced by the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture. The company plans to start sales of the model in the near future, which should strengthen its position in the competitive Chinese electric car market.
