From the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the number of killed and wounded on both sides exceeded one million people. This was stated by the new Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, in a speech from Brussels, reports the edition "European Justice", quoted by Focus.
"Every week more than 10,000 people are killed and wounded in Ukraine by both sides. More than a million are the losses since February 2022. Putin is trying to wipe Ukraine off the map", Rutte said.
The Secretary-General emphasized that war brings new destruction and death every day. According to him, the situation at the front remains extremely difficult, with serious losses for all participants.
Heavy losses for Russia
According to the data presented by Mark Rutte, Russia's losses reached 700,000 people – killed and wounded. "The situation at the front is changing slowly and at a very high cost for the Russians. They have already lost 700,000 people, and this month is a record number of their losses," he added.
