The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine reported that Russian troops have shot six more Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Donetsk region, the BBC reported. A criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident, News.bg reports.
A message from the department on its Telegram channel notes that during the storming of Ukrainian positions in the Donetsk region, Russian soldiers captured six servicemen of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and shot them. Ukraine's human rights commissioner, Dmytro Lubynets, confirmed that a video showing the alleged execution of unarmed Ukrainian prisoners of war had been released, but it was not confirmed whether it was the same incident.
"The video shows Russian soldiers filming the execution - the shooting in the back of six captured Ukrainian soldiers," Lubynets wrote. "Those who witnessed the execution were forced to watch while the Russian cameraman on the video commented that ‘One is mine’, after which shooting was heard," he added.
A Russian response to these allegations has not yet been received, and the BBC cannot confirm the facts due to the ongoing hostilities.
