Turkish authorities have detained 46 people in a large-scale anti-terror operation against the terrorist group “Islamic State“ (Daesh), carried out in four districts of the country. According to information from the Turkish television NTV, the operation was part of an investigation launched on the orders of the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office, BTA reports.
The investigation identified 47 suspects who are accused of supporting the terrorist organization by providing financial resources and carrying out organizational activities in collaboration with individuals associated with conflict zones.
During the operation, which was carried out with a high degree of coordination, 46 suspects were arrested, and the search for the last one is ongoing.
Turkey was one of the first countries to include "Islamic State" on its list of terrorist organizations back in 2013. Since then, the country has been repeatedly targeted by the group, suffering a number of terrorist attacks, including ten suicide attacks and bombings that have killed over 300 people and injured hundreds more.
