What would a Rolls-Royce look like if it were produced by AvtoVAZ

British aristocracy dressed in the rough quilting of Soviet engineering

This title sounds like an automotive absurdity, doesn't it? And yet, virtual space never ceases to surprise us with projects that go beyond the bounds of common sense. The latest creation, the work of artificial intelligence, transports us to a parallel universe, where the legendary VAZ 2107 has decided that it is no longer enough for it to be just the “workhorse“ of the Eastern Bloc, and has put on the tailcoat of Rolls-Royce. The result is, to put it mildly, startling: a hybrid between the luxury of “Goodwood“ and the pragmatism of “Togliatti“, which would make even the most calm lord raise an eyebrow in bewilderment.

Looking at this digital experiment, one cannot help but smile at the daring metamorphosis. The classic silhouette of the “seven”, resembling a strict parallelepiped, has been preserved almost intact, but is garnished with a massive chrome grille that desperately tries to copy the famous Phantom. The headlights, although claiming modern LED aesthetics, still have that specific look of a car that has seen too many repairs in front of the block. Oh, what an irony - a machine that dreams of the red carpet in Cannes, while its DNA still encodes the memory of the smell of gasoline from the carburetor and the eternal knocking of the valves.

Despite the ambitious vision and the shiny rims that seem ready to slowly parade along the cobblestones, harsh reality shines through beneath the surface. This concept is the perfect illustration of the idiom “naked tumbak, pair of guns“. No matter how much luxury is added, the characteristic geometry of the VAZ remains a constant that cannot be hidden even under the most expensive shell. Ultimately, we have an automotive oxymoron: a high-status symbol that knows deep down that it will always remain just a pile of sheet metal with big dreams.
