The iconic S-Class W140 entered a strange drift mode

The legendary S600 V12 came to life in a bold art project

When you hear about the Mercedes-Benz S600 from the nineties, images of statesmen, business magnates, "sluts" come to mind - all united by unshakable luxury. But what if we took off the strict suit of this German colossus and threw it into the center of a midnight drift race? That's exactly what designer Davide Virdis does, breathing new, rebellious life into the iconic W140, turning it into a drift machine that will give you chills.

The reason for this virtual madness is more than festive – reaching the impressive figure of 600,000 followers of the popular account “Classic Driver“. The project is a bold visual interpretation that mixes German engineering greatness with the extreme Japanese subculture “bosozoku“. The result is a car with brutally low ground clearance, heavily bloated fenders and an aggressive presence that makes the classic flagship literally “bite“ the asphalt.

Careful observers will immediately notice the aesthetic reference to the historic Mercedes-Benz “Red Pig“ racing car. Here, however, the spirit is modern – the car is prepared for spectacular drifts and night feats in illuminated city parking lots. Under the long hood, at least theoretically, the epic V12 engine installed in the sedan between 1991 and 1998 still rumbles, but now set to “burn” the rear tires with every gas stroke.

However, we must note the key nuance that may disappoint collectors with checkbooks prepared - for now, this drift beast exists only in the digital space. This is a photorealistic render, an art installation that explores the fine line between classic heritage and modern tuning. Virdis, who has already impressed us with an extreme version of the Mercedes 500 E, proves once again that there are no limits to imagination, and the monumental lines of the W140 are the perfect canvas for bold motorsport fantasies.
