Serbia hosts record number of participants at EXPO 2027

Over 110 countries have confirmed their participation in the international exhibition EXPO 2027, which will be held in Belgrade, announced the Minister of Finance and First Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Sinisa Mali, emphasizing that the republic has never hosted an event of such a scale.

“Next week will be the largest event ever organized in Serbia, although this is only a preparation for EXPO. 112 countries have already confirmed their participation - this is a record figure“, Mali noted. According to him, delegations from 140 countries will arrive in the country to get acquainted with the preparations. “We are essentially building a new city. “EXPO is our greatest opportunity for development, a stimulus for all sectors of the economy“, the minister added.

Mali recalled that the Belgrade Expo will be an international platform for presenting the country's long-term development plan until 2035. He said that in 2025 the average salary in Serbia will exceed EUR 1,000, and by 2027 it is expected to increase to EUR 1,400. “In 2012 it was EUR 329, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić was laughed at when he promised EUR 500 in 2019. Today these goals have been achieved and we are moving forward“, he said.

As part of the preparations for EXPO, the government is also planning to launch new sections of expressways and open five new enterprises. “Today Serbia is an investment-grade country, we were on the verge of bankruptcy, and now we are confidently moving forward“, Mali said. emphasized.
