Yavor Bozhankov sounds alarm: There is already a new player in the villages who wins the vote better than Boyko Borisov

The GERB leader himself has admitted that entire ministries have been "given up for concession"

The MP from the parliamentary coalition “We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria“ Yavor Bozhankov made serious criticisms of former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, the ruling majority and President Rumen Radev in an interview for the program “This Sunday“ on bTV, broadcast on October 26, 2025.

According to Bozhankov, Borisov's attempt to restructure the political space has failed. “Borisov's great reformatting crashed in rotation – "I hope he didn't do it again in some monastery, as these rotations were done before," he said.

According to the MP, the GERB leader himself admitted that entire ministries were "given up for concession", which raises serious questions about control over the executive branch. "It's quite scary when someone gives Bulgaria's government up for concession. Here comes the question - which ministries were given up and who took them? There is no answer to this question," Bojankov stressed.

He also accused Borisov of never looking for a real political partner outside of certain circles. "Did he expect us to wave at him, to offer to help him? Whoever is looking for support must initiate a conversation. Borisov has never sought one with us“, said the MP.

Bozhankov also commented on the results of the local elections in Pazardzhik, noting that if they anger Borisov, then this is a sign of a future trend. “If the elections in Pazardzhik anger him, then there is bad news for GERB – this will be repeated throughout Bulgaria. GERB is eroding in the cities“, he is categorical.

According to him, a new player has appeared in small settlements, winning votes using the same model that GERB has used until recently. “GERB are the ones who for decades savagely organized the electoral process in the villages, literally barbarically“, said Bozhankov.

The MP expressed the opinion that the current ruling majority is in a state of institutional crisis, to such an extent that even citizens do not know who performs the functions of Prime Minister.

Bozhankov outlined two main “red lines“ for his political force - refusal to cooperate with the coalition “Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning“ and building a cordon sanitaire around the “Vazrazhdane“ party, which he defined as a “pro-Russian fragment“.

Criticism was also directed at President Rumen Radev. Bozhankov stated that the ruling majority has given him the opportunity to present himself as a victim. “There has never been such a populist in our political system. Five armored cars of the National Security Service - front and back - and in the middle he with a “Skoda“. But who gave him this gift? The ruling majority. The more repressive they become, the bigger hero they make of him, and he is the most pro-Russian politician in the last decade in Bulgaria“, Bozhankov emphasized.

He warned that the country could follow the Romanian scenario of institutional destabilization. “If they think that a full mandate will save them from Radev - on the contrary. We are waiting for the Romanian scenario, even worse. The wave in Bulgaria will not be pro-Russian, but anti-system and protest“, he concluded.
