Guner Tahir: With APS, Dogan will reach the bottom of the pyramid, but let him try anyway

Whatever they do, they understand that they are not in good shape, Guner Tahir pointed out. And he added that the people in Turkey did not expect a split in MRF either

The possibilities of this party, which will be established on Saturday - Alliance for Rights and Freedoms (APS), are limited, Guner Tahir, a former member of MRF, said in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio.

"Dogan will reach the bottom of the pyramid, but let him try anyway", he added.

Tahir, as someone who has gained 36 years of experience in MRF, explained that the elections are made by the mayors, and the people in mayor's offices and municipalities are made dependent. A year ago, when the DPS split into Dogan and Peevski, the mayors were almost equal, but "now the situation is not like that".

"We will see how much support there is, because Bulgarian politics shows us that even people who were authorities like President Petar Stoyanov, Georgi Parvanov, stood at the head of a party, formed a party and appointed trusted persons, but did not achieve any results. And Dogan is like that, he has been in politics for 36 years and should have stepped down in time, and not now be put in extreme conditions," said Tahir.

According to him, Dogan may be looking for revenge, but two days before the conference it is not known who will be at the helm.

The only option was for Dogan to be at the helm of the APS again for a year and to give up his place, the leader could be Taner Ali, but the most likely leader of the APS would be MEP Ilhan Küçük.

"Whatever they do, they understand that they are not in good shape," said Güner Tahir. He added that people in Turkey did not expect a split in the MPS, but after it happened they quickly got their bearings. And the main coordinator in Istanbul has long since sided with the MRF-NN.

"Many people in Bulgaria and abroad had certain criticisms of the way Dogan led the party and in the person of Peevski they see the person who has dealt with the problem. We see that in the PG of the MRF-NN, apart from Peevski, who says almost nothing, the others have fallen silent", commented Guner Tahir.

He likened the demolition of the sarais in Boyana to the blown up mausoleum of Georgi Dimitrov by Evgeni Bakardzhiev, so that there would be no symbol of communism.

"Now Peevski is doing the same thing, demolishing unnecessary sarais, because they are a complex made through someone else's labor. We are done with Dogan, but even if he has not built anything his whole life, but only demolished, there is also a symbol", shared Tahir's opinion.
