"Vazrazhdane": Early parliamentary elections are the only solution to save Bulgarian democracy

In this exhausted parliament, there are no limits and no obstacles to violating either the Constitution or the laws of the country, with one sole goal - forcibly bringing Bulgaria into the eurozone and preventing the voice of Bulgarian citizens from being heard, commented the deputy chairman of the parliamentary group of "Vazrazhdane" Petar Petrov

Early parliamentary elections are the only solution to save Bulgarian democracy or at least what is left of it. This was stated by the deputy chairman of the parliamentary group of "Vazrazhdane" Petar Petrov in a statement from the rostrum of the National Assembly, reported by BTA.

After in May the transitional leadership of the National Assembly, with its sole act, did not allow a proposal to hold a national referendum on the issue of the introduction of the euro to be considered and this sole act was declared unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court, yesterday we witnessed a new sole act of the current leadership of the National Assembly, which not only did not allow a proposal by members of parliament for an item on the agenda, which aimed to consider and vote on a proposal to hold such a referendum, but also limited the constitutionally guaranteed rights of a parliamentary group to participate in the work of the National Assembly, Petar Petrov said.

In this exhausted parliament, there are no limits and no obstacles to violating either the Constitution or the laws of the country, with one sole purpose – the forced entry of Bulgaria into the eurozone and preventing the voice of Bulgarian citizens from being heard, commented Petrov.

The resignation of this government, its overthrow and early elections are the only prescription for this disease, which is currently being observed in Bulgarian political life and in its highest forum, said the MP from "Vazrazhdane". In his words, the 51st parliament has been depleted of all political trust. Early parliamentary elections are the only solution to this political crisis, which has had the effect of preventing the Bulgarian people from expressing their voice on one of the most important issues for state governance, through violation of the Constitution, laws and through procedural manipulations, said Petar Petrov.

He added that change and in fact the national consultation with the people starts with each of us. How long will the Bulgarian people be content to watch indifferently what is happening. This is what we must answer ourselves, because today is the question of the euro, tomorrow it will be about our freedom and there will be no referendum for it either, the MP commented.

For the political party "Vazrazhdane" from now on, the path is early parliamentary elections and we will do nothing but fight for this to happen, said Petrov. He sent two messages, one of which - to the ruling party. "Get out of power while there is time and while the Bulgarian people have still given you a chance to do so", he said. The other message was to the Bulgarian people. "Become heroes, we will not be yoked", said the MP from "Vazrazhdane".
