"Next week we are clearing the main parameters of the budget. With an additional report, which is offered to the submitters in the National Assembly, they will be considered again. We have all possibilities within December to have a budget for 2026”. This was stated by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov to journalists, quoted by Nova TV.
He explained that the cabinet has received the proposals of unions and employers and is already working on them.
As for the withdrawal of the budget, Zhelyazkov said that this will delay the procedure.
„At the beginning of this year, when the government withdrew the budget submitted by the caretaker cabinet, it took about 2 months for a new one to be submitted and adopted. If we go through the procedure, this means that in 2026 we have to enter with an extended budget in order for the systems to function. This will not be the most appropriate way. This will only satisfy the understanding of withdrawal and „sprinkling salt on the head” of the government”, commented Zhelyazkov.
Regarding the protests, he did not predict whether an escalation is possible on Monday. “The main demands of the previous protest are being met, and this in dialogue with the unions and employers”, said the Prime Minister.
