The acting Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Angelina Boneva submitted her resignation to Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov for health reasons.
Until the appointment of a new minister, the current Deputy Minister of Regional Development Nikolay Naydenov, Chief Assistant Professor at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, will perform the functions.
Prime Minister Gyurov will propose to President Iliana Yotova to issue a decree dismissing Angelina Boneva and appointing Nikolay Naydenov to the position of Minister of Regional Development and Public Works.
Who is Nikolay Naydenov
Nikolay Naydenov is a long-time lecturer at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in cartography and GIS. He has extensive professional experience in investment design and spatial planning. He is a geodesic engineer by education, a doctor in the scientific specialty "Cartography" at the University of Agricultural and Rural Development, as stated on the website of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works of the Republic of Bulgaria.
He was appointed as the acting Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works on 24.02.2026. Previously, he held the position of Deputy Minister in 2023 and 2024.
