The strike actions of the unions continue. Today, workers and employees in public transport in Sofia will protest, Nova TV reports. The organizers of the demonstration are the Federation of Transport Unions at the CITUB. Their demands - dialogue about the problems in the sector and fair pay through a subsidy from the state budget.

The protesters have sent an invitation to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance and the mayor of the capital in order to get acquainted with the working conditions at the depot.

The CITUB told NOVA that a blockade of public transport is not expected today. But they are categorical that in the absence of dialogue and solutions, they will move to active protest and strike actions.

Against this background, in a written position to the media, Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev wrote that “many of the issues that the unions raise depend directly on the management of the transport companies, and these companies are subordinate to the Sofia Municipal Council, which appoints their management”.

At the moment, the hole in the budget for the capital's transport is 50 million euros.
