The candidate for deputy from "Siyanie" Nikolay Popov, leader of the lists in the 23rd and 25th districts in Sofia, said that he expects the formation to enter the next parliament and that he has his own sociological data.

„Of course I expect and I also have different data. So I am rather optimistic about entering parliament“, said Popov.

He pointed out that the formation finances its own surveys.

„We finance our own surveys. It is very important what methodology is used. It is very important what sample is used. I have done different experiments with different samples. The data is very different in different cases“, he said.

Popov added that “the methodology is standard, used by most agencies“, specifying that the results are yet to be confirmed by other sociological surveys.

He denied claims that the formation would become “a crutch for the status quo“. “How will I be a crutch for the status quo with the children from the protests in leading positions on the lists?“, Popov asked.

According to him, the movement attracts people from different political circles. “There are all kinds of people with us. Both leftists and rightists, because we are a cause, not a party“, he said.

Popov also commented on the issue of the protest vote and the role of President Rumen Radev.

“Why should the entire vote go to President Radev? Yes, he is a good alternative. There are people who support him. He rather attracts a particularly left-wing vote. But there should be broad representation in parliament“, he said.

Regarding the proposal of “Progressive Bulgaria“ Popov confirmed that he had an invitation to be included in the lists, but he refused. “I don't want someone to order me around, tell me what to do and to follow the rules of politicians who have completely different goals and interests than what we want to achieve“, he said.

Popov added that the formation has “clear things that are very easy to implement“. “There is a problem, there is a solution. This is the principle by which we work“, he said.

He also commented on social and economic topics, including healthcare. “16 times difference in drug prices“, Popov said, proposing the creation of a directorate in the Ministry of Health to monitor European prices in real time and introduce maximum prices.

“We have no control over the chains that are in a cartel. This is the main reason for the high prices“, he added.

Popov also commented on the possibility of a coalition with the PB after the elections. “Naturally. If they do what they say and if they agree to fulfill our conditions, we also support them in electing a new Supreme Judicial Council“, he said.

He said that the formation supports the idea of changes in the prosecutor's office, in particular the replacement of the acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov. “Of course. He is acting temporarily. "There is no way this can continue," Popov said.

According to him, the formation supports convening a Grand National Assembly to change the structure of the prosecutor's office. "We agree to support convening a Grand National Assembly where this figure would be removed," he said.

Popov categorically distanced himself from GERB and MRF-NN, stating that they should have no more place in power. "This should definitely happen, but not with clay and pigs in the squares, but with a very clear vote," he said.
