The capital municipality has started the demolition of an illegal hotel near the Iskar dam. The company that builds the building is owned by businessman Rumen Gaitanski-Valka. Crews were greeted by a locked gate, a road blocked by a large vehicle and a traffic stop order due to pregnant hinds.
In the hotel itself, in addition to the restaurant and hotel part, there is also an indoor swimming pool. Earlier today, the teams of the Metropolitan Municipality arrived and had to start demolishing the building, in front of which a car was parked to obstruct traffic. It got to the point where the gate chain was cut and the car moved with a recovery vehicle.
Meanwhile, it became clear that the forestry, which is responsible for this territory, has forbidden outside vehicles to reach here, so as not to disturb the hinds, which are pregnant.
After a number of court cases, the Supreme Administrative Court decided - the hotel and two other buildings in the hunting farm “Iskar” are illegal and must be destroyed. That's why the excavators called by the Metropolitan Municipality came. The locked farm gate stopped them.
After they cut the chain, a “spider” had to come too. After the vehicle parked opposite was also moved, the technician and the employees were able to proceed. And the deputy mayor Ivan Vassilev was unable to contact the directors of forestry and the state enterprise.
The Deputy Mayor of Sofia, Ivan Vassilev, tried to contact the Director of Forestry “Iskar” Ivan Diviziev, on whose territory is the building to be demolished, but he did not answer. The telephone call to the director of the South-West enterprise, Valentin Chambov, also went unanswered.
„We also spoke with him yesterday, he told me to look for phones on the site and talk to the people who are there. The only thing, as I explain it to myself, is sabotage from the state's point of view, and obstruction of a decision of the Supreme Court," said Deputy Mayor Vassilev.
After the municipality themselves reached the illegal building, its demolition began.
„The main question we have to ask ourselves is how this hunting farm did not work for two days because it has been locked for two days. The fact is that an order was placed on the front door, restricting access in connection with the reproduction of the hinds and the mechanization that entered would endanger the reproduction of game in the enterprise, said Zdravko Zdravkov, chief architect of Sofia.
In his words, neither game nor management of the hunting farm is visible. This building was under construction for more than a year and a half and when it was being built, it did not disturb the game and did not give anyone the impression during that period that it was being built illegally.
The Ministry of Agriculture did not answer whether they knew about the illegal construction on their territory and whether they gave consent for it. From there they stated that the ministry, the South-West state enterprise and hunting farm “Iskar” assisted in the demolition. Later, the YZDP press center reported that the order to stop traffic because of the pregnant hinds has already been canceled, their employees will assist the machines, and the car that blocked the entrance is not their property.
