This is another time when we demand the resignation of Kalin Stoyanov. When people need the state the most, it is not there. The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not buy fire-fighting equipment, but luxury cars.
This is what he said in the show "Lice vlice" on BTV the deputy chairman of the PG of "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" Bozhidar Bojanov on the occasion of the coalition's demand that the Minister of Internal Affairs Kalin Stoyanov resign because of the government's failure to control the forest fires.
Kalin Stoyanov has been a minister for a long enough time. Already six months ago, during the "Denkov" cabinet, BGN 100 million was secured under the "Environment" Operational Program. to purchase firefighting equipment. The Ministry of the Interior has so far failed to initiate the relevant procedures for the purchase of the equipment, while at the same time they bought luxury cars, Bojanov said. It's about a lack of organization. Houses are burning, but the state is gone. This is just one of the results of the lack of reforms in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he added.
It is important for the state's systems to be in a state in which they can react adequately to crises, emphasized the deputy chairman of the PG of "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria".
He also commented on the unsuccessful attempt of the coalition to gather support for the draft declaration with the anti-corruption changes.
Yesterday we held working meetings on our draft declaration. After these meetings, everyone else's statements were that they did not support this approach. The meetings were in a very constructive tone, but, unfortunately, no support was found. Our approach involved putting this law before the government was formed. We believe that since we are in an unprecedented political situation, we cannot approach it as in a normal situation. We are in this situation because neither the political parties trust each other nor the citizens trust that when the parties agree on a government it will be in the best interest of the citizens. This lack of trust is due to the fact that the institutions do not work in the public interest. We want to reform these institutions, because they are used as clubs, commented Bozhidar Bojanov.
He noted that in "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" there were no controversies about the proposal for the anti-corruption changes.
In response to a question, Bojanov clarified that the topic of the third mandate is yet to be discussed by the governing bodies of the coalition. When we see who the president has given the mandate to, we will gather to decide how to approach, said the deputy chairman of the PG of "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria".
