Sports and culture have always been ambassadors of rapprochement. I don't think we should be such heavy nihilists. Life in Bulgaria is not bad. Politicians need to change the narrative.
This is what criminal psychologist Rosen Yordanov recommended in an interview with BNR and explained what voters should use to guide politicians.
„One of the things parties need to stop doing is talking about “house on fire” - everything is bad, others are nasty and bad. The strategy is a story about a place where they will take you in a ship, how we can live well, etc. And I believe that this will happen. It is true that not every party has the capacity for this, but the processes that are taking place, this split in many political parties, will shock them quite seriously. And those who have the capacity should start doing it, regardless of what others are doing,” commented Yordanov.
According to him, GERD has already shown altered speech.
„From DB I hear balanced, reasonable speaking, the tone was set by Radan Kanev. With PP, it will be difficult to achieve reflection (introspection of one's own thoughts and experiences - n.b.) I hear individual representatives speak in this way, and I am optimistic that this narrative will help us. We don't live in a bad place. We live well and many Bulgarians have realized that the territory and what we have is not so bad. Life is not bad in Bulgaria, I know they are bad words for people who hate and spit. For people to mend their relationships and for politicians to tell stories, what good they can do for us, that's my optimism," commented the psychologist.
According to him, in relation to native politicians, in the last 4 years, many of the diseases from the classification of diseases have been exhausted.
„The most important thing is for politicians, metaphorically speaking, to prove to the voter that they are sane and capable of action. Because these are the two concepts in clinical practice and psychiatry that determine whether a person can be held responsible for his actions. In the last 4 years, we have looked at characters - insane or incapacitated, or both,”, Yordanov is emphatic.
And he explained that in generalizing the picture, two very important factors cannot be bypassed.
„One was the pandemic. It has seriously affected people, and I'm not sure they really realize this phenomenon that we've experienced, the severe loss of a sense of control. That's why two directions developed - a deep faith in science and the other is the conspiracy and dark forces control us,” explained Rosen Yordanov.
And he shared that some of the parties, in addition to political scientists, also work with psychologists in the election campaigns.
