"The President, if he exercises his constitutional authority to refer the case to the Constitutional Court - in any case, this has nothing to do with our admission to the eurozone".

This was stated on the program "Darik's Week" by the MP from "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB) and university lecturer Vasil Pandov. He emphasized that the adoption of the single European currency is a legal commitment that our country has confirmed since joining the European Union.

Despite the different wording, Pandov considers the draft referendum of the head of state to be similar to the consultation that the "Vazrazhdane" party initiated. The Constitutional Court determined the request of Kostadin Kostadinov's party to be unconstitutional, which according to Pandov limits the president's move.

"We do not have a decision of the National Assembly (NA) that would be a suitable act for a request to be declared unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court. Mr. Radev will eventually submit a request for interpretation of the Constitution. He cannot annul Natalia Kiselova's act, because this is not a decision. From then on, the request for interpretation cannot consist of an interpretation of whether there can be a referendum on this issue or not, because the Direct Participation Act regulates the restrictions on which issues an interpretation of the constitution cannot be requested. There cannot be such an interpretation, because the Constitutional Court can only interpret powers regulated in the constitution. There are many ambiguities as to what exactly Mr. Radev will want, and given the practice of the Constitutional Court from last year, when 10 to 1 judges were in favor of the euro, Radev is quite limited in what he can ask for as an interpretation. He may possibly request an interpretation of what the powers of Natalia Kiselova are as president. This will not "no direct relation to the eurozone and the procedure for adopting the euro," said the deputy
