People are afraid that someone will steal their savings. There is no one to steal their savings in any way, said the leader of "We continue the change" Kiril Petkov at a press conference at the BTA National Press Club in Vidin, BNR reported.
What will happen, however, is that without currency risk, investments will go up, he emphasized.
"The risk that people will not be able to convert their money into euros is gone. There will be no fees for this. The problem is for the people who have stolen millions and have to figure out how to clear this money, but for ordinary people this is not a problem," Kiril Petkov also said.
He also commented on the issue of the sovereignty of the Bulgarian lev.
In his words, with the eurozone, Bulgaria will for the first time sit at the table and will be able to talk about Europe's monetary policy in a model of shared sovereignty. Instead of simply receiving instructions on what the interest rate should be tomorrow, without even being able to ask about it, he added.
