The Kyustendil District Court imposed a sentence of "imprisonment" for 3 years and 6 months on the defendant, finding him guilty of theft, under the conditions of dangerous recidivism.
So far, the man has been convicted 50 times, the Kyustendil court announced.
The latest case was heard under the shortened trial procedure, with the defendant Alexander A. (35 years old) admitting all the facts of the case.
He was accused of stealing 36 kilograms of copper waste, worth 342.00 leva, from a point for buying up ferrous and non-ferrous metals in Kyustendil, in the month of May 2023.
The defendant is currently serving a sentence in Bobov Dol prison, again for theft. The 35-year-old man's previous convictions are mostly for theft, the court told BTA.
