The mayor of Yakoruda Mehmed Vaklyov kept his threat and announced an absentee public auction for the sale of 26 Iskar cattle, which were “arrested” at the end of April near the road to Velingrad. The age of the cattle is from 1.9 to 63.9 months and all are in excellent health. The starting auction price, according to the official report of the National Statistical Institute for the 1st quarter of 2025, is 4.36 BGN excluding VAT per kilogram of live weight for calves up to 1 year old, 4.80 BGN/kg for cattle from 12 to 24 months old and 2.86 BGN. without VAT per kilogram of live weight for cattle for fattening over 24 months of age. The date of the auction has not yet been set, but the councilors in Yakoruda have already approved the proposal.

Even when the cattle were captured and taken to a private property for breeding, Mayor Vaklyov announced that he expected their owner to present him with evidence that the animals were his, and to take them home, but only after paying a fine for having let them go homeless – from 20 to 200 leva per animal. It immediately became clear that the cattle belonged to Fatime Ahmed – the wife of the former mayor of Konarsko Ahmed Ahmed-Pachkata, but despite her application to the municipality to return the cattle to her, she was refused – The animals turned out to be without ear tags that could prove their ownership. According to the husband of the livestock breeder, the tags fell off while the Iskar cattle were sneaking through the trees, and the deputy mayor of Yakoruda, Mario Asyov, had picked them up not from the road, but from a private fenced meadow for which his wife paid rent, but his arguments were not taken into account.
